AK-47 and briefcase full of money: props for 'Faraji The Elephant' animation

I made the AK-47 with balsa wood and sculpey. The pieces were carved and sculpted individually then stuck together with hot glue which gives the look of a real attachment material once painted. The hot glue was painted with acrylic to give it a full coverage, whilst the balsa and sculpted were painted with watercolours to allow some of the material underneath to show through in the texture.

The briefcase was made from balsa and painted with acrylic to allow a smooth coverage. Using precise measurements I was able to scale real South African currency, using Photoshop, to the size that would fit into the briefcase. I then printed the individual notes and stuck them together with PVA to give the look of real cash.
